COVID-19 has everyone moving from in-person gatherings to online gatherings. This can be a challenging transition for entrepreneurs whose soul purpose stands on interaction and collaboration with others.

Yes, there’s a learning curve, and they’re making like palm trees, bending with the breeze.

You’ll get some ideas for how to get funding for your business through sponsorships, providing scholarships for families in need, and more.

About Ritika Sehgal

I am a proud mom to a curious and hyper 5 year old, which inspired me and continues to drive my passion for early education and organic exploration for young minds. After having led Software development teams for a big Med-tech company for many years, I am now a local franchisee / Director for Challenge Island – San Diego Coastal. I am really excited to bring Challenge Island’s unique and award-winning, cross-curricular STEAM program to the schools, children and families of our community! It is my hope to help elevate a well-rounded development for our budding generation; to provide opportunities for organic learning through hands-on experiential and interactive play-based options. We also focus heavily on Social Emotional Learning and engagement. We extend our philosophy of promoting 21st century skills (such as Social Connections, Collaboration and Communications) beyond the class-rooms to other group events for Families, Corporate (team-buiding) and Active Seniors.

At Challenge Island, our motto is “Where Engineering meets Imagination”. And I love that every class/ workshop has a unique flavor and experience. And of course, during this time social distancing (due to COVID-19) as we are pivoting to providing virtual classes and workshops, I am even more impressed and amazed by the dynamic and resilient approach adopted by kids and families as they participate in our programs.

As I continue to grow and mature with this venture, I am looking to further expand out to develop other opportunities that will extend my interest in community outreach and building support systems for entrepreneurs/professionals as well.
