Social Media Day 2019 was a huge success. I’m so honored to have been able to help plan, promote and manage this event for the second year in a row. Before that I was a volunteer, holla 🙌
This year the event was held at the Bahia Resort Hotel with lunch and networking right on the beach. It’s been the perfect spot for the last three years.
Social Media Day San Diego is produced every year by Casual Fridays, a social media agency that provides services, tools, and strategies to help consumer-focused businesses connect with their audience.
Co-founders, Tyler Anderson and Bill Viex are so much fun to work with. I admire their passion to support others in their journeys, their desire for work-life-family balance, and their ability to keep things casual and professional all at the same time. I can’t ask for better people to work with.
This year was super special for me because my 9 year old daughter jumped in on the action. She helped me and my volunteer team run the show, and even had her own walkie talkie. Events are always a team effort so I’m grateful for all the support we can get. I’m loving the fact that I’m seeing more of my clients include their kids in their events, and business overall.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, events are all about connection and building relationships. Connections can be made through learning, discussion, networking in person or online, and simply by having fun conversations!
If you don’t already know education is one of my highest values. Education in the sense that we’re learning something new everyday whether it’s through reading a book, listening to a podcast, formal education, or attending an event and gaining insights from the speakers or other people in your industry.
The speakers at Social Media Day San Diego were so real and shared so much. As an event planner and manager, I wasn’t able to sit in on all the sessions, let alone sit through one entire talk. I’m so glad that we shared the slides and audio recordings with all our attendees, including me.
I did share my a few nuggets I was able to snag throughout the day on my Facebook page for my weekly Event Tip Tuesday live videos. Check it out below.
